Awards Season
28 Aug 2014T’is (almost) the season to be jolly but here at Accounts and Legal we’re already feeling pretty cheerful. “Why?” we hear you cry, well…
We couldn’t be happier to announce that we have been shortlisted for the 2014 British Accounting Awards in the Accounting Start Up category. Yes that’s right, on the 25th November we will be rubbing shoulders with the glitterati of the UK accountancy world and we can’t wait. It’s a black tie affair so we’re looking forward to polishing our finest footwear and stepping out in our best but that’s not all…
Not only have we been recognised by the powers that be in the world of accounting we have also been recognised by the Good Web Guide in their Website of the Year Awards. Actually this week the GWG have shone the spotlight on us, you can read all about it here.
So wish us luck over the coming months and watch this space for the results!
Now while things are hotting up here in our office things are certainly heated north of the border as the Scottish Independence referendum looms near. It all takes place on the 18th of September and we want to know what you think about it all.
So will an Independent Scotland be better or worse for the UK economy? Take part in our quick poll to let us know by show of digital hands if you think it will, you think it won’t or you think it won’t make a difference.
But back to looking after our personal economies. We’ve written about EIS before but in case you don’t know EIS stands for Enterprise Investment Scheme. The scheme allows small businesses to offer shares in their companies in return for investment. But here’s the real beauty of it, investors are even more inclined to take part this way as they will receive tax relief for the investment.
In the past we have assisted our clients in attaining funding through EIS but this week we got approval to complete EIS 3 certificates. These are the forms issued to investors to ensure they receive the tax relief. This makes us a one stop shop for both business seeking investors and investors who have or would like to participate in the scheme. Talk to us about it now.
