We’re looking for an organised, commercially minded Finance Manager to join our growing outsourced finance team. You’ll work across a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of their day-to-day finance function and making sure their numbers are accurate, up to date and useful.
This is a genuinely hands-on role. You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail of the bookkeeping, managing credit control, preparing management accounts and cash flow forecasts, while also building trusted relationships with clients and helping them understand what their numbers are telling them.
What You’ll Do
Manage the day-to-day finance function for a portfolio of clients, making sure their finance operations are accurate, timely and well organised, including:

Own the bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting for your client portfolio

Prepare accurate and insightful monthly management accounts

Produce and maintain cash flow forecasts, helping clients understand their current and future cash position

Take ownership of credit control, aged debt and cash collection, working proactively with clients to improve cash flow

Manage purchase and sales ledgers, invoicing, payments and reconciliations

Work closely with clients to understand their business and make sure the finance function is meeting their needs

Help clients improve their finance processes, systems and controls
Be the go-to finance contact for your clients, building relationships based on accuracy, responsiveness and trust.
A big part of the role is making sure clients feel that their finance function is properly looked after. You’ll need to be highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing deadlines across multiple businesses.
What You’ll Bring:

ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent relevant experience

Proven experience working as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant or in a similar hands-on finance role

Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience — you’ll need to be comfortable getting into the detail

Solid experience preparing management accounts

Strong cash flow forecasting and cash management experience

Proven credit control and aged debt experience

Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach to your work

Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines and clients at the same time

A commercial mindset and the ability to understand what the numbers mean for a business

Confident communicating financial information to business owners and senior management

The ability to spot problems, take ownership and get things done without needing to be chased

Experience using Xero and Dext (and ideally a genuine enthusiasm for cloud-based technology)

Experience in practice or an outsourced finance environment would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who likes being responsible for getting things right.
